She’d never experienced autumn until she travelled abroad to study at an English university. She’d often wondered what autumn felt like – if the leaves were as red and gold as the books said they’d be. And if the air smelled crisp in the way that her coastal town never would. Using handloom cotton not only helps us to work with smaller weavers but also plays an important role in reducing the environmental footprint of the garments we produce.

Polyester is a synthetically manufactured fabric that is known for its durability and a characteristic texture. The making of this blouse from fabric is an extensive process where our karigars and tailors come together. First, the master tailor makes a pattern on a brown paper for each size. Our karigars then trace this pattern onto the netted fabric of the blouse. This is then secured to a wooden frame for the hand embroidery to be done. Once this is done, the glitter is pasted onto the design and left to dry. When the fabric is finally ready, it goes to the tailors for the final cutting and sewing. And then behold! the magic of the blouse comes alive!
