Story

It was her birthday and, like every year, she knew that her parents were planning a surprise party. It was their tradition and, as paradoxical as it seemed, they loved the look of surprise on her face when she walked into a darkened room that had been carefully concealed (and decorated from her on her special day). So, she made sure to look and act surprised when she got home from her conveniently scheduled dentist appointment and walked into the house.  

Yes, she had expected that her friends and relatives would assemble, just as they did every year. But it still warmed her heart to see those she loved celebrate her special day. Her home was the abode of so many special memories. Within its walls were contained so many reasons to celebrate. And she would celebrate them all, for as long as she lived.
