Story

She had moved out of her childhood home and her newfound independence put a sunny smile on her face, even though she missed her parents terribly. For her first Christmas in her own apartment, she was super excited, I could tell. She put up the tree a week in advance and I overheard her saying she knew exactly what to give to herself, as a gift. On Christmas eve, she brought home a puppy! 

And just like that, while I was perched on the cream wall of her living room, I watched a young girl take her first steps towards creating a family of her own!
